What is the most important value to your company of being a member of the PURE Co-op?
Two values immediately come to mind. One is secure supply and the other is competitive pricing. However, I am not sure one is more important than the other. But obviously getting a competitive price every day is an “every day” issue while secure supply in the event of an emergency does occur as often. But secure lets us sleep better at night.
How would you rate the three credit card preferred vendors?
We thoroughly vetted all three vendors for their offerings. Pure selected these three from a list of twelve companies responding to the “Request for Proposals”.
There is very little difference between them when comparing fees, reporting, and service. Two of the three use the same processing platform while the third offers our members the “bypass” platform. This allows for simpler and less cost of installation depending on the platform a member is currently using.
Does the PURE Co-op pay a dividend to its members?
The Co-op has paid “most” of its annual revenue in the past to its members. However, over the last five or so years, the Cooperative has retained its cash in order to enhance its balance sheet to finance its “direct sales” and to allow it to lower its cost of Letters of Credit to do lower accounts receivable insurance costs. We believe that in the near future, Pure will once again be paying a patronage dividend to its members.
Is a member required to Brand all his/her dealer sites if he/she purchases contract fuel from the cooperative?
No. However, each member is required to have at least one Pure branded site to become and remain a member in good standing.
How do I become a member?
You may contact the Pure staff to obtain an application for membership. They will contact any current members in your service area to determine if there are any Branding conflicts and to check the reputation of the applicant.
Is there a minimum volume requirement for membership?
No. A member decides what volume for each product he wishes to put under Contract. Usually the individual member contracts are reviewed once a year for volume adjustments. However, there are certain requirements to fulfill your contract obligations.
Is a member allowed to co-mingle other products at a Branded Store?
Yes, a member may purchase, store, and sell unbranded fuel in any of his stores or to wholesale customers. However, he still must purchase his minimum contracted volume aggregated across all his stores and customers.
